Stellar Organic Winery, situated in Trawal, 275km north of Cape Town on the road to Namibia, is the largest producer of fine organic wines in South Africa. Situated in an area famous for its spring flowers and the only semi-arid Biosphere hotspot in the world. Stellar has a number of "firsts" to its credit. It was the first organic winemaking operation in the world to gain the coveted Fair Trade Certification TM and the first cellar in Africa to produce commercially viable no-sulpher-added wines. The organic vineyards and winemaking process are fully certified by Union Control Certifications, based in the Netherlands.

The sparsely populated Namaqualand does not suffer the light pollution that plagues urban areas around the world.The dark nights and clean air result in breathtaking cosmic display with the aptly-named Milky Way at its center. The clear nights are also cooler and help bring down the average summer temperature. We pay homage to theis phenomenon with this range of wines.
