RADFORD DALE GRAVITY

Appellation: Stellenbosch, South Africa

A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, strived for equilibrium between natural sweetness of fruit and integration of structure. Each varietal contributes its unique facets; the Merlot its deep red-berry fruit and suave mouth-feel, the Shiraz its persevering spiciness and its gutsy, supple body; the Cabernet its blueberry backbone and dense, ripe tannins. All knitted together by patient, careful maturation. This wine bears the hallmark of the region it was reared in and the mineral soils in which it has its roots.

“Bright medium ruby.  Reticent, slightly reduced nose combines dark berries, plum, tobacco and eucalyptus.  Sweet, tactile and deep, with flavors of cassis, chocolate, licorice and mint.  Rather claret-like and Old-World in style but with extra sweetness.  A broad, mouthfilling wine that’s still young but already shows a suave texture.”
