sequillo red bottle
SEQUILLO RED

Appellation: Swartland

A blend of Syrah, Mourvèdre and Grenache, Southern Rhone varietals particularly suited to the arid climate of the rugged terrain of the Swartland region.  Painstakingly crafted using time-honored winemaking machinery (basket press) and methodology (pigage), this wine is a bottled rendering of the very terroir from where it was created.  The aim is to produce a unique and honest wine displaying minerality as apposed to more opulent flavors.

“Good full red. Redcurrant, spicecake and chocolate mint on the nose, lifted by a note of dried flowers. Suave, juicy and vinous, with good concentration of flavor in a medium-bodied package. More southern than northern Rhone in its red fruit and spicecake flavors, but not particularly fleshy or powerful. Subtly sweet, firmly structured and elegant.  Made by Eben Sadie of Columella fame.”
