VEENWOUDEN CLASSIC

Appellation: Paarl, South Africa

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, this wine has a dense saturated purple color with an aromatic offering of licorice, violets, and crushed dark mulberries, followed on the palate by cassis, a hint of espresso roast and lead pencil.  This full bodied wine exhibits terrific extract and ripeness, with ripe tannins, exquisite balance and a lovely, long, supple velvety finish.

“. . . the medium to dark ruby-colored 2000 Classic offers a nose of chocolate, coffee bean, and lead pencil-laden black fruits.  Medium-bodied and powerful, it is a concentrated wine with loads of extract, muscle, and tannin.  Juicy blackberries, black currants, and sweet dark cherries are interspersed with spices in its complex character.“
